Uber to Accept Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies as Payment Options Soon
Uber has announced that it will soon allow its customers to pay using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The company’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, explained that this step comes to enhance the options available to customers, and that it is part of Uber’s strategy to provide the best services.
Currently, Uber accepts a variety of payment methods such as bank cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay, and now it is looking to add cryptocurrencies to these options.
Khosrowshahi stressed that Uber will not invest in cryptocurrencies, but wants to give users the freedom to choose their preferred payment method.
The company is working to ensure the service will launch smoothly and securely, but has not set a date yet. Uber is also expected to offer a digital wallet as part of this initiative.
This move by Uber comes after major companies like Mastercard and Tesla have started accepting cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.
